'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League comeback

Kane marks his century goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his desire in coming back to the Premier League has diminished and he is prepared to negotiate a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is currently two years through the four-year deal he signed when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the summer of 2023.

The veteran forward has netted an remarkable 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German club, helping them claim the 2024-25 Bundesliga title - which was the first significant honor of his illustrious career.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has previously expressed that he would like to see Kane go back to England, where he needs 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring record of 260.

However, the England skipper has now indicated that he is no longer as enthusiastic about coming back home as he earlier was, and would seriously consider lengthening his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of extending longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be open to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a superb moment and I am not considering about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different opportunities and different periods happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Milestone Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top scorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the speediest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, securing the milestone in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had escaped him until he won the German title last season.

Kane states that he was not sure how he would respond after overcoming his trophy barren spell, but now believes it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.

"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Continued success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The possibility of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
  • New contract talks could begin in the near future
  • Kane's exceptional goal-scoring record continues to amaze
